Materials Science and Engineering (MSE) professor Ramón Collazo has been selected as a member of the NC State’s 2021-2022 University Faculty Scholars. Prof Collazo will carry the title of “University Faculty Scholar” for the duration of his faculty appointment at NC State.
The University Faculty Scholars Program was established in 2012 by Chancellor Randy Woodson to recognize emerging academic leaders at NC State. Faculty members must meet eligibility requirements, and be nominated by their college. The College of Engineering has a full list of past engineering University Faculty Scholars for the past ten years.
Prof Collazo joins eight MSE faculty with the distinction of University Faculty Scholars:
- 2018-2019: Associate Professor Veronica Augustyn
- 2017-2018: Adjunct Associate Professor James LaBeau
- 2016-2017: Professor Douglas Irving
- 2015-2016: Kobe Steel Distinguished Professor Jacob Jones, and Professor Joseph Tracy
- 2014-2015: Distinguished Professor Yaroslava Yingling
- 2013-2014: Professor Albena Ivanisevic
- 2012-2013: Professor Emeritus Jon-Paul Maria
Nominations for University Faculty Scholars begin each fall and are announced the following spring semester.
