Process Engineer

We are looking for a motivated full-stack process engineer to work on novel microfabrication and integration technologies. The engineer’s role will be to bring up new process technologies, provide process feedback, maintain equipment as necessary and work with internal and external customers on designs. This is a key role in a small foundry that offers exposure to a wide variety of wafer-scale fabrication processes and tools. The candidate will work with a remote team in California while being on-site in Research Triangle Park, North Carolina. The ideal candidate will be eager to learn the basics of many different areas of device development.

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Develop and refine a variety of standard processes on wafers at various stages of device development, including lithography, metallization, etching, thin film deposition, etc. in a cleanroom environment.

  • Characterize process results using tools such as optical microscopy, SEM, profilometry, etc.

Glass Materials Scientist

The Application Engineer will collaborate and coordinate with Commercial and Department of Defense customers to conduct on-site meetings and training sessions for new system users to ensure effective and safe use of the PlasmaBlast® tool. The key goals are to achieve or exceed training performance objectives, help identify and document use cases and then create work process instructions as required. This position will work closely with the APS R&D and Engineering team and the Sales team to ensure all activities across this program follow the documented APS training and recommended best practices.

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Participate in the acquisition, installation and operation of high-tech equipment in your section.

  • Perform routine production work with the available equipment in your section according to established standards and procedures to meet the desired specifications.

Roles and Responsibilities
Provide technical leadership for customer product support, training, and application engineering to Navy personnel and contractors. You serve as the initial point of contact for the customers using our products and be considered the resident expert in product use.

Responsible for successful onboarding of APS products at customer sites that leads to an excellent customer experience and proper use of our system.

Ceramic/Materials Engineer – New Graduate Program

Two-year hands-on program with opportunities to transfer into process engineering roles in factories around the country. As a Materials Engineer, you are responsible for utilizing professionally accepted engineering principles and techniques to engineer and oversee all aspects of ceramic material manufacturing, process/product implementation and quality control.

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Develop a working knowledge (hands-on) of all manufacturing processes, in-process controls, SPC, material characterization and all associated equipment.

  • Assist in developing, implementing, and improving production/processing methods and controls to cost-effectively meet expected outcomes. Verifies outcomes and/or courses of action with appropriate personnel prior to taking action

  • Collect and correlate production data to identify result discrepancies and drive continuous improvement.

  • Oversee manufacturing processes and effectively utilizes SPC tools (i.e. control charts, DOE’s, etc.) to maintain and improve product and process quality.
