The NC State Awards for Excellence program considered the most prestigious honor for non-faculty employees, recognizes individuals who demonstrate outstanding service, innovation, and dedication. The selection process involves a rigorous evaluation by a committee composed of previous award recipients, such as 2023 winner Berni Premachandra, who played a pivotal role in determining this year’s exceptional achievers.

The Awards for Excellence are categorized into seven distinct areas: Customer Service, Public Service, Efficiency and Innovation, Safety and Heroism, Human Relations, Spirit of North Carolina, and Outstanding State Government Service.

The 2024 Awards for Excellence ceremony not only celebrated individual accomplishments but also underscored the collective spirit of excellence that defines the NC State University community. Through their exceptional contributions, these dedicated staff members continue to uphold the university’s commitment to excellence and innovation.
