Materials Research for Direct Metal Additive Manufacturing
Location: BTEC Room 135
Friday, December 11th 2015 - 11:00 am
Direct Metal Additive Manufacturing is gaining momentum as a new manufacturing process within multiple industries like aerospace, medical, power electronics, and automotive. While metal AM processes have matured over the past decade the research focus is now shifting to the materials side. These processes can produce materials with unique properties hard to replicate using more traditional manufacturing processes. This presentation will highlight some of the materials related research projects taking place at NC States Center for Additive Manufacturing and Logistics.
