Bio

Hillary Stone is the Undergraduate Academic Advisor for the Department of Materials Science and Engineering. She works with undergraduate students throughout their time at NC State, from exploring MSE during their Engineering First Year through graduation and beyond.

Hillary takes a holistic, student-centered approach to advising. She believes some of the most meaningful parts of a college education happen beyond the classroom and encourages students to pursue high-impact experiences, including research, internships, co-ops, study abroad, leadership opportunities, and student organizations. These experiences help students connect what they learn in the classroom with their interests and goals.

Hillary joined the MSE department in 2020 and enjoys getting to know students, supporting them through the challenges and opportunities of college, and celebrating their growth and accomplishments along the way. When she’s not working with students, Hillary enjoys reading and spending time outdoors, running, and hiking.
