Golsa Naderi wins two awards from the IEEE Council on Superconductivity at the 2014 Applied Superconductivity Conference

Golsa Naderi, MSE PhD student, received two awards from the IEEE Council on Superconductivity at the 2014 Applied Superconductivity Conference (ASC), held in Charlotte, NC, from August 10-15, 2014.

The Graduate Study Fellowship in Applied Superconductivity, awarded annually to full-time graduate students in the area of applied superconductivity, is based upon the quality of their prior research, the impact of their current research or the impact of their potential research in superconductivity. Golsa received an honorarium of U.S. $5,000, an inscribed certificate and a one-year complimentary membership in the IEEE and in one of the council’s member societies.

Golsa also won 3rd place in the ASC 2014 Best Student Paper contest for presenting “On the roles of Bi2Sr2CuOx in Bi2Sr2CaCu2Ox/Ag round wire transport on multiple length scales” co-authored by Evan Benjamin Callaway and Professor Justin Schwartz. Golsa Naderi received a $250 cash award and an inscribed certificate from the IEEE Council on Superconductivity.
