MSE First Year Scholarships
The Department of Materials Science and Engineering will award ten $1000 scholarships to entering Fall first year students. To be eligible you must be classified as an MSU freshman. To apply for a scholarship:
1. Complete the scholarship application and write a short essay (1 page maximum, single spaced) describing your high school achievements and interest in materials science and engineering.
2. Before the COE Welcome Session on August 20, 2009, email your scholarship application and essay to Dr. C. M. Balik.
The College of Engineering will hold a Welcome Session in the McKimmon Center from 5:15 - 8:00 pm on August 20, 2009. Attendance is required for all incoming First Year Engineers. Representatives from all the engineering departments will be available to answer questions and provide additional information about each engineering major. To be considered for an MSE Freshman Scholarship, you must also visit the MSE representatives at this meeting.
