Professional Experience

Ziad joined North Carolina State University in 2005 as a research associate in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering. He has a joint Ph.D. between the University of Erlangen in Germany and the University of Montpellier II in France under the co-advising of Prof. A. Winnacker and Dr. P. Masri. During his PhD Ziad was involved in bulk growth and characterization of high quality SiC crystals at the Department of Materials Science 6 in Erlangen. He developed techniques to enlarge crystal diameters and to grow along non-standard directions using the Physical Vapor Transport method.

Current Activities

Ziad is currently involved in growth and characterization of bulk AlN crystals.
