Education
Ph.D. Materials Science and Engineering, North Carolina State University, Raleigh, NC Professional Experience Ramon joined North Carolina State University in 1998 as a doctoral student in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering. Currently he is a Post-Doctoral Research Associate in the Laboratory for Research on Wide Bandgap Materials. His Ph.D. work at NCSU focused on electron transport characterization of group III-nitride thin films and field emission of carbon-based materials. Before coming to NCSU, Ramon studied in the Physics Department at the University of Puerto Rico and worked at the Epitaxial Growth and Characterization Laboratory under the supervision of Dr. Antonio Martinez. He has also worked on growth and characterization of semimetals, ferroelectric and group III-nitride thin films. Current Research Projects Ramon's research efforts are geared toward developing photonic bandgap structures based on optical properties of the III-nitride semiconductor family. |
